I have my  Sunbird stored at my friend’s shop but thankfully, Kentucky winters can be pretty mild so I’ll still get to drive it some this winter - just not in the rain or snow.

Ya, I got lucky and a tornado hit the 100+ year old barn that used to be there. Insurance is a wonderful thing.

Fiata?  Poor thing deserves to be out sliding in the snow.

Yes, sir! Mine is just a coupe instead of a convertible.

Kinja'd!!!

It’s an original owner car with 56,000 miles. An elderly lady bought it new and she passed away in 2017 and it was bought at her estate sale.

Do you really get enough snow in Ken tucky that you need to store it?

Also, kudos to preserving a generally unloved car.

Lol...I keep thinking it would be nice if a tree or something fell on my extra garage so I can rebuild it how I want it to be.

There is an enormous elm tree directly behind my decent size, but very poorly built garage ... I dream of what could be, if only it would fall.

Is the battery for the ND/Fiata now in the engine bay again? Or did that switch over between the NB and NC as well?

Mine’s in the engine bay, don’t know about the Mazda

Nope. But, they salt the roads around here if they even think about snow. Honestly, I don’t see how they don’t run out of the stuff.

It was in the trunk for the NA/NB, I was just curious when Mazda switched over from that. I just checked google and found out from miata.net that the NC is when they put the battery into the engine bay. So I would assume it has stayed that way for the ND/RF/Fiata

Huh, I wouldn’t think they’d even use salt in Kentucky

So what you’re saying is, I need to build a shanty of a garage, then cut a giant tree down right over the top of it.

Phase 3, profit?

Lol no. Actually I spent quite a bit of money for the upgrade, but none of it ever  would have happened without the tornado.

Well, yeah hahaha a similar thing happened to a local marina a few years back. Heavy snow buckled the roof structure *just enough* that it didn’t collapse but insurance totaled the building. They took the opportunity to expand the whole building for half the cost of what it would have been, or something like that.
